Former MEGADETH Guitarist To Resume Recording Solo Album

August 29, 2005

Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman's official web site has been updated with the following message:

"As Marty's weekly TV show, 'Hebimetasan', reaches the end of its contracted six-month run (final show to be aired September 26),fans of the hit show are not letting it go without a fight. There is a petition circulating on the Internet to keep the popular heavy metal/variety show going. Even before the petition was started there were rumors of the show starting again in late '05 or early '06, but those rumors can't be denied or confirmed at this point. Information will be up at this site as it becomes available.

"Marty's live performance with Kirito (tour final, Tokyo Aug. 28) can be seen in Japan by pay-per-view! Broadcast dates are Oct. 14, Oct. 23, Oct. 29, Nov. 3, and Nov. 13 on SkyPerfect TV. Unfortunately, this broadcast is Japan only, but the entire performance plus footage from the entire tour on and off stage will be released on DVD before the end of the year. The six-show trek was a huge success with every show completely sold out.

"In recording news, Marty recorded five songs for the upcoming [Japanese pop singer] Aikawa Nanase album, one of which he has co-written. He will be in Los Angeles in September to continue recording on his own upcoming solo album. We will have more info on its progress up here as it comes in."
